Maybe the "Great Divide" boils down to one simple concept:If I have free will: Submit to the Father
If I do not have free will: Submit to the Father

Your boiled down application is correct. No matter the case, we must respond in obedience and submission.
To offer a thought on the Great Divide, though, let me suggest we embrace the paradox like this:

I could have said "no", but without God my "yes" would be impossible.
