the virtue of baptism is to be understood as a covenant with God for a second life and a purer conversation... Gregory of Naziansus - 4th C. Church Father

Christian. Husband. Pastor. I am the Pastor of Ames Baptist Church, in Ames, OK. We began ministering here in May of 2009. The name "a purer conversation" came out of a conviction had regarding my previous blog, which now does not exist. Desiring to continue blogging, but struggling with some of the attitudes and comments I expressed, I realized that I was outside of striving for holiness before God. So, as I was reading Gregory of Nazianzus I came across these words, "the virtue of baptism is to be understood as a covenant with God for a second life and a purer conversation." This helped me to realize that the pursuit of a confessing believer is to pursue life in view of this idea, "a purer conversation." This was helpful in the birth of this blog . . .
